The Challenge
Auto Auction Reconditioning Centers generate a wastewater stream that can be very complexed or highly emulsified. Many different types of chemicals are used in the cleaning process such as highly emulsifying detergents, engine degreasers, wheel and brake cleaners, and acids.
Cleaning the tires and brakes washes off zinc from the brake pads, contaminating the wash water with heavy metals. Some types of detergents will complex the heavy metals, not allowing them to be removed easily during the water treatment process.
The Solution
The Living Water Environmental V-CAT wash water treatment system is extremely effective at breaking emulsions, removing dirt and complexed heavy metals from wash water.
The treated water is clear and odor-free for reuse or discharge to sanitary sewer.
